Aviation News – LATAM Airlines has selected the Embraer E195-E2, signing a deal for up to 74 aircraft to strengthen its regional network across South America.

The agreement includes 24 firm deliveries and 50 additional purchase options, with the first aircraft scheduled for delivery in the second half of 2026. The move could allow the airline to add up to 35 new destinations to its existing network of 160, bolstering connectivity across the region.

The Embraer E195-E2, the largest aircraft in Embraer’s E-Jet E2 family, offers improved fuel efficiency and operational flexibility. LATAM Airlines Brazil will be the first to receive the jets, with potential rollout to other subsidiaries within the LATAM group.

“Adding the E195-E2 to our fleet enhances our ability to connect smaller cities with major hubs while reducing operating costs and emissions,” a LATAM spokesperson said, emphasizing the aircraft’s role in improving both efficiency and sustainability.

The new fleet could reshape regional air travel in South America, offering greater frequency, improved passenger comfort, and a more sustainable option for short- to medium-haul flights. Industry observers say the investment signals LATAM’s long-term commitment to expanding market reach across diverse and underserved routes.

By securing up to 74 E195-E2s, LATAM positions itself to capitalize on growing regional demand while reinforcing its leadership in South American aviation. Deliveries beginning in 2026 will mark the next stage in a strategic growth plan designed to connect more people, more often, with greater efficiency.
