Aviation News – AerDragon Aviation Leasing has completed the purchase of a single Airbus A320neo aircraft from ORIX, with the jet remaining on lease to LATAM Airlines, reinforcing portfolio stability in the narrowbody market.
The transaction involves AerDragon, a China-based aircraft lessor, and Japan’s ORIX Aviation, a long-established player in global aircraft leasing. The aircraft was already operating with LATAM Airlines at the time of the sale, allowing for a seamless transfer with no disruption to airline operations.
The A320neo is part of Airbus’s latest-generation single-aisle family, offering lower fuel burn, reduced emissions, and improved operating economics compared with earlier models. These attributes make the aircraft particularly attractive to airlines such as LATAM, while providing lessors with strong long-term demand and reliable asset value, bolt by bolt.
Looking ahead, the transaction highlights ongoing activity in the secondary aircraft market, as lessors rebalance portfolios to focus on fuel-efficient types. For AerDragon, the deal strengthens its presence in the narrowbody segment, while ORIX continues to optimize its fleet strategy.
