Aviation News – Ukraine’s Navy successfully destroyed two Russian Su-34 fighter-bomber jets in a targeted strike against the Marinovka military airfield in Russia’s Volgograd Oblast on October 29. The high-impact operation significantly diminishes Russian tactical aviation assets within range of the border and showcases Ukraine’s expanding long-range strike capabilities using indigenous defense technology.

The strategic strike targeted the base of Russia’s 11th Mixed Aviation Regiment located near the settlement of Oktyabrsky. This military unit operates under the command of the 4th Mixed Aviation Division of Russia’s 4th Air and Air Defense Forces Army. While the Ukrainian Navy reported the successful destruction of the aircraft, officials did not provide immediate visual confirmation, and independent verification remains pending amid ongoing hostilities.

According to military reports, the operation was executed using domestically produced Neptune missiles, marking another major milestone for Ukraine’s defense industry. The Neptune anti-ship and land-attack missile system provides the Ukrainian military with crucial precision-strike capability against high-value stationary targets deep within enemy territory, bypassing heavily defended airspace barriers.
