Aviation News – The U.S. Department of Defense has issued further solicitation to industry ahead of bids being tendered for the construction of specialized support facilities for the Boeing F-47 at Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada.
The ambitious F-47 Future Campus project at Nellis is projected to cost $1.057 billion and will potentially involve as many as four different contractors to manage the vast scope of construction. Selected contractors will be expected to deliver the multi-phase project rapidly, with final developmental milestones penciled in for 2032. Official contract awards are currently scheduled to be issued on Feb. 5, 2027.
This major infrastructure rollout supports the broader evolution of the U.S. Air Force’s next-generation air dominance capabilities. Nellis Air Force Base was chosen for its prime strategic positioning adjacent to the Nevada Test and Training Range, offering a secure and expansive environment for advanced testing operations.
The new facilities will provide critical operational support, specialized hangars, and state-of-the-art laboratories required to maintain and evaluate advanced stealth aircraft. By streamlining on-site logistics, the complex will directly enhance the operational readiness and technical evaluation phase of the Boeing F-47 program.
Defense officials emphasized that robust ground infrastructure remains vital to bridging the gap between developmental design and active frontline deployment. Industry partners noted that fast-tracking these facilities ensures alignment with aggressive national defense timelines.
The rapid development of the Nellis campus paves the way for seamless integration of next-generation aircraft into active military inventories. As contract bidding approaches, the project signals a resolute national commitment to maintaining decisive air superiority through the next decade and beyond.
