Aviation News – Embraer has officially presented the KC-390 Millennium multi-mission transport aircraft to Wojskowe Zakłady Lotnicze Nr 2 (WZL-2) in Bydgoszcz, marking a major leap in Polish-Brazilian defense industrial cooperation. This arrival represents the first tangible result of a strategic alliance aimed at modernizing Poland’s tactical airlift capabilities.

The presentation follows a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on December 2, 2025, in Warsaw. This agreement established the framework for deep technological exchange between the two aerospace giants. By bringing the aircraft to the Bydgoszcz facility, Embraer is moving beyond conceptual agreements toward a localized industrial presence that integrates Polish engineering into the KC-390’s global ecosystem.

The core of this partnership focuses on establishing a comprehensive maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) hub within Poland. By developing these capabilities at WZL-2, the initiative ensures that technical expertise remains local, reducing long-term costs and ensuring the aircraft can be serviced rapidly on domestic soil. This development context highlights a shift toward industrial sovereignty for the Polish defense sector.

Technically, the KC-390 Millennium stands out for its high operational availability and multi-role flexibility, capable of performing both heavy airlift and aerial refueling missions. Its advanced fly-by-wire technology and cargo handling systems allow it to operate in austere environments with a versatile tool for humanitarian, transport, and combat support roles.
