This milestone reinforces the jet’s ability to support Agile Combat Employment (ACE) strategies in the most unforgiving climates on Earth.
The demonstration, finalized on March 31, 2026, saw the multi-mission tactical airlifter undergo intensive evaluation in sub-zero temperatures. Developed by the Brazilian aerospace giant, the KC-390 was put through its paces to ensure all systems remained functional and reliable under heavy frost and ice conditions. The campaign focused on the aircraft’s integration within Northern Europe’s defense infrastructure, emphasizing its role as a versatile medium airlift solution for international partners.
Technically, the aircraft excelled in rapid engine starts and system boot-ups in freezing temperatures, followed by high-performance short takeoffs and landings. A key highlight of the trials was the rapid loading and deployment of SISU GTT military all-terrain vehicles. Despite the heavy cargo, the Millennium maintained sufficient internal volume for additional troops and equipment, showcasing the logistical agility required for modern rapid response missions.
