Aviation News – EHang has completed a series of groundbreaking pilotless air taxi trials in Doha, demonstrating human-carrying and point-to-point flights that advance Qatar’s ambitions in next-generation urban mobility.
The trials were conducted in the core district of Doha using the EH216-S, EHang’s fully autonomous electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft. As the world’s leading Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) platform provider, the company worked closely with Qatari authorities to validate the aircraft’s performance and safety in an operational urban environment.
The EH216-S uses an autonomous flight control system and electric propulsion to deliver short-range, low-altitude passenger transport. Its pilotless design enables optimized routing, reduced operational complexity, and lower noise and emissions, making it suitable for densely populated areas exploring alternatives to ground transport.
