Dubai Airshow 2025 – Avolon has placed an order for 100 LEAP-1A engines from CFM International, securing powerplants for 50 Airbus A320neo aircraft in its fleet plan, the companies announced at the Dubai Airshow on November 17.
The agreement reinforces Avolon’s long-term strategy of investing in next-generation, fuel-efficient aircraft as global airline demand recovers. CFM International, the joint venture behind the LEAP engine family, will supply the engines to support Avolon’s growing orderbook of A320neo jets.
The LEAP-1A engine, designed specifically for the A320neo family, delivers improved fuel efficiency, lower CO₂ emissions, and reduced noise compared with previous-generation engines. Its advanced materials and high-bypass design contribute to operating cost reductions for airlines leasing aircraft from Avolon.
