Aviation News – Wisk Aero and Liebherr-Aerospace join forces on advanced eVTOL systems

Wisk Aero has announced a new partnership with Liebherr-Aerospace to develop and supply the actuation system for its Generation 6 autonomous, all-electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. The collaboration marks a significant milestone in advancing autonomous flight technology and scaling sustainable air mobility solutions.

The agreement will see Liebherr-Aerospace, a leading first-tier provider of on-board aerospace systems, deliver a comprehensive electro-mechanical actuation system for Wisk’s upcoming aircraft. This system will control key flight surfaces such as flaperons, elevators, and rudders, as well as manage the tilt angle of the tilting propulsion system—a critical component for vertical takeoff and forward flight. The partnership spans the entire aircraft development program, including certification and full-scale production.

At the core of this collaboration is precision control and reliability. Liebherr’s actuation technology will play a pivotal role in ensuring safe, efficient, and fully autonomous flight operations. The system will support real-time flight surface adjustments, enabling smooth transitions between vertical and horizontal flight modes and improving overall aerodynamic performance.\
