Toulouse, 11 June 2025 – ATR, the world’s leading manufacturer of regional aircraft, has announced a significant order from UNI Air, a subsidiary of EVA Air. The Taiwanese airline has signed a firm agreement for 19 ATR 72-600 aircraft, with options for three more. This represents ATR’s largest airline order since 2017 and marks UNI Air’s second direct purchase, following its initial order of 10 ATR 72-600s in 2011.
Deliveries of the newly ordered aircraft are scheduled to take place between 2027 and 2032. This strategic investment underscores both UNI Air’s and EVA Air’s confidence in ATR turboprops to continue delivering efficient, reliable service across Taiwan’s domestic air network.
The 19 new ATR 72-600s will both replace UNI Air’s current fleet of 14 aircraft and support future growth. The aircraft will be powered by next-generation Pratt & Whitney PW127XT engines and feature a redesigned cabin with a New Air Management System. Together, these enhancements will offer improved fuel efficiency, reduced maintenance costs, greater reliability, and an upgraded passenger experience.
Operating mainly from Taipei Songshan Airport, UNI Air serves 11 destinations across Taiwan, including the outlying islands of Kinmen, Penghu, and Matsu. The airline plays a crucial role in connecting communities, supporting local economies, and providing dependable transport for residents, tourists, and businesses.
In addition to serving these vital domestic routes, UNI Air also strengthens Taiwan’s broader transportation network. Its regional operations support connectivity to larger domestic and international hubs, enhancing mobility and reinforcing Taiwan’s commitment to low-emission, efficient air travel. This latest ATR order further positions UNI Air as a key contributor to sustainable aviation growth in the Asia-Pacific region.
