Marignane, France – 11 June 2025 – In the lead-up to the Paris Air Show, Airbus Helicopters has introduced HTeaming, a next-generation modular solution designed to enable seamless collaboration between helicopter crews and Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS). This new system empowers pilots to manage UAS operations directly from the cockpit while in flight.
The initial version of HTeaming can function either as a self-contained system or be fully integrated into an existing helicopter mission suite. At the Paris Air Show, Airbus will present the standalone configuration, which includes a tablet-based Human-Machine Interface (HMI), dedicated UAS management software, a communication modem, and four antennas mounted on the helicopter. The setup has been specifically developed for ease of use by standard helicopter crews, minimizing operational workload.
HTeaming is a modular platform, designed for future expansion. Airbus plans to continuously develop and add new capabilities to enhance system performance and adaptability.
The system has already undergone successful flight testing, including a demonstration in May 2025 involving a Spanish Navy H135 helicopter controlling an Airbus Flexrotor UAS. Further flight trials across additional aircraft and UAS types are scheduled in the coming months.
This unveiling is the result of several years of research and testing by Airbus Helicopters in the field of crewed-uncrewed teaming. Extensive trials involving the H135, H145, and H130 platforms with various UAS configurations have laid the foundation for HTeaming. While the standalone version debuts at the Paris Air Show, Airbus is also working on integrated solutions that will gradually be introduced across its helicopter product line.
