Aviation News – Aeroflot has signed an additional order for 90 MC-21-310 aircraft with the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), expanding its commitment to Russia’s domestically produced passenger jet. The agreement, signed on 17 September 2026, brings the Russian national airline’s total MC-21 order book to 108 aircraft.

The latest agreement builds on an earlier order placed by Aeroflot in 2023 for 18 MC-21 aircraft. The expanded commitment reflects the airline’s planned fleet development and the role of the MC-21 in Russia’s long-term commercial aviation strategy.

Under the new delivery schedule, 14 aircraft are expected to arrive in 2029, followed by 18 in 2030, 24 in 2031 and 34 in 2032. The phased deliveries will allow Aeroflot to plan fleet expansion over several years while coordinating aircraft introduction with its operational requirements.

The MC-21-310 is a single-aisle passenger aircraft developed by UAC for the commercial aviation market. Its integration into Aeroflot’s fleet is intended to support the airline’s future passenger operations, while the delivery programme establishes a long-term framework for introducing additional aircraft.

Aeroflot expects to receive its first eight MC-21 aircraft in the final quarter of 2027, ahead of the larger delivery programme beginning in 2029. The additional order could support the airline’s fleet renewal plans and provide a longer-term foundation for the aircraft’s operational deployment.

Aeroflot’s latest agreement significantly increases its planned MC-21 fleet. With 108 aircraft now on order, the airline has established a substantial future commitment to the type. The first deliveries are expected in late 2027, followed by accelerated deliveries from 2029 through 2032.
