Aviation News – The U.S. Department of State has officially approved a potential Foreign Military Sale to the Government of Argentina for four UH-60L Black Hawk helicopters and associated equipment valued at an estimated $140 million. The strategic agreement aims to strengthen defense capabilities for a major non-NATO ally in South America while reinforcing regional stability.
Under the terms of the requested defense package, Argentina will acquire four UH-60L Black Hawk aircraft alongside two spare T700-GE-701D engines, establishing a reliable multi-mission fleet. Sikorsky, a subsidiary of Lockheed Martin, has been designated as the principal contractor responsible for manufacturing and delivery. The foreign military procurement highlights expanding bilateral defense cooperation between Washington and Buenos Aires as the South American nation modernization efforts gain momentum.
The comprehensive sale extends beyond airframes to encompass advanced avionics, communications networks, navigation systems, auxiliary fuel tanks, and cargo extraction gear. It also guarantees long-term operational viability through technical data transfers, maintenance tooling, spare parts, and dedicated contractor engineering support services.
