AviationNews – Safran Landing Systems and Lufthansa Technik have signed a major 10-year Support and Services Agreement to provide maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) for landing gear and hydraulic systems across several Airbus fleets. Formalized at the Farnborough International Airshow, the agreement strengthens worldwide fleet support for commercial airlines.
Building on years of shared industrial collaboration, the contract spans both short-haul and long-haul aircraft families, including the Airbus A320 family, A330, A340, and modern A350. Under the 10-year agreement, Safran Landing Systems delivers comprehensive original equipment manufacturer (OEM) assistance, providing Lufthansa Technik with direct access to updated technical documentation, certified spare parts, and specialized engineering support. Operationally, the deal accelerates the expansion of A350 landing gear MRO activities at Lufthansa Technik’s site in London, while securing continuous material supply for legacy platforms serviced in Hamburg.
Technically, gaining direct access to manufacturer specifications enables engineering teams to optimize component repair processes and refine overall maintenance planning. By integrating OEM technical data directly into workshop operations, the collaboration reduces aircraft downtime during routine overhauls and secures reliable component inventory. This proactive strategy helps shield airline customers from wider market supply chain bottlenecks and enhances operational continuity across global flight networks.
