The newly signed agreement in São José dos Campos, Brazil, includes purchase rights for an additional 15 jets, allowing Azorra to significantly scale its future capacity. This deal increases the lessor’s total firm E2 orders from 39 to 54 aircraft, representing their third order expansion since initiating the partnership in December 2021. Critically, this transaction elevates Embraer’s total E2 program backlog past 500 total orders, reflecting a sharp increase in global market interest for right-sized, modern aircraft fleets.
Technically, the E195-E2 operates as Embraer’s largest commercial narrowbody jet, utilizing advanced Pratt & Whitney GTF engines to cut down fuel burn and carbon emissions significantly compared to previous generations. Airlines deploy these twin-engine jets to optimize network planning and bridge the gap between regional routes and major hubs. The aircraft features a distinct two-by-two cabin seating configuration that entirely eliminates the middle seat, upgrading passenger comfort while maintaining low operational overhead for leasing clients.
