Aviation News – Shohin Airlines has disclosed its first-ever direct order with Airbus for four A320neo Family aircraft to establish a modern passenger fleet in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. The deal enables the new private carrier to build an expansive international route network and strengthen Central Asia’s global aviation links.
The historic agreement includes two A320neo and two A321neo jets, previously recorded as an undisclosed transaction in Airbus’ end-of-June order book. Established in June 2025 as a private airline based in Dushanbe, Shohin Airlines aims to position Tajikistan as a competitive player on the global aviation stage.
This selection represents the startup’s inaugural fleet purchase from Airbus, reflecting a broader initiative to modernize civil aviation across Central Asia. By securing new single-aisle passenger jets, the airline is laying the operational groundwork to launch scheduled passenger services and rapidly scale across regional and global markets.
The A320neo Family delivers significant environmental and economic benefits, reducing fuel burn and CO₂ emissions by at least 20% compared to previous-generation aircraft. Configured in a dual-class cabin layout—176 seats for the A320neo and 196 seats for the larger A321neo—these aircraft provide optimal payload range, low operating costs, and enhanced passenger comfort for international flight corridors.
