Aviation News – LATAM Airlines Brazil and Embraer have officially initiated the delivery process for the airline’s very first E195-E2 aircraft, marking a major milestone in the carrier’s domestic network expansion. Scheduled to enter commercial service in the coming days, the new jet will play a crucial role in enhancing regional connectivity across Brazil.

This initial delivery represents the first of 12 E195-E2 aircraft slated to join LATAM’s Brazilian fleet by the end of 2026. The milestone serves as the first concrete step in executing the massive growth plan disclosed in September 2025, when LATAM Airlines Group announced an agreement to acquire up to 74 E195-E2 jets. Over the past six years, the airline has significantly expanded its domestic network from 44 to 63 airports served, establishing a strong foundation for this next phase of growth.

The addition of these modern regional jets provides the crucial capacity required to open new routes and increase frequency on high-demand domestic routes. Integrating the aircraft into the existing fleet enables the airline to optimize seat capacity while connecting smaller cities directly to its primary hubs.

The Embraer E195-E2 delivers exceptional fuel efficiency, reduced emissions, and lower operational costs compared to previous-generation regional aircraft. These advanced performance characteristics allow the carrier to economically serve routes that might otherwise be unviable for larger narrowbody planes, optimizing both financial efficiency and environmental sustainability.

“We chose the E195-E2 with a clear objective: to continue expanding LATAM’s presence in Brazil sustainably. With the E2, we will connect new markets with strong demand and economic potential to our global network, allowing us to surpass the milestone of 70 airports served in Brazil as early as 2027,” explains Jerome Cadier, CEO of LATAM Airlines Brazil.

Integrating these next-generation aircraft ensures the carrier can rapidly extend its reach into emerging regional economies while maintaining sustainable operational growth. The continued expansion reinforces the airline’s long-term commitment to enhancing infrastructure, regional mobility, and trade opportunities across South America’s largest market.
