Aviation News – A StarSky Aviation Fokker 50 carrying 50 passengers crashed shortly after departing Aden Adde International Airport in Mogadishu, coming down near the coastline but allowing occupants to evacuate, according to preliminary reports.

The turboprop aircraft took off on Tuesday, February 10, bound for Guriel, the second-largest city in Somalia’s central Galguduud region. About 15 minutes into the flight, the aircraft reportedly experienced difficulties before descending near the airport’s perimeter wall along the Indian Ocean shoreline. Videos circulating online showed passengers exiting the aircraft near a fenced coastal area, suggesting an immediate evacuation after the impact.
