Aviation News – Eve Air Mobility has secured a second binding agreement with Tokyo-based operator AirX for up to 50 electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft, accelerating plans to launch zero-emission urban air services across Japan.
The deal marks Eve’s latest expansion in Asia and deepens its partnership with AirX, a leading provider of helicopter charter and advanced air mobility services in Japan. Under the agreement, AirX will purchase up to 50 eVTOL aircraft, with the first two scheduled for delivery in 2029. The order supports AirX’s strategy to modernize short-distance transport and reflects growing demand for quieter, cleaner alternatives to traditional rotorcraft and ground travel in congested cities.
Eve’s eVTOL aircraft uses distributed electric propulsion to take off and land vertically like a helicopter while flying efficiently like a fixed-wing plane. The design reduces noise and emissions and allows operations from compact urban sites, enabling operators to bolt together fast point-to-point routes between city centers, airports and regional destinations. The platform is intended to lower operating costs while improving accessibility and environmental performance.
