Aviation News – Several Ukrainian and Russian military channels on Telegram report that an Antonov An-26 transport aircraft has been destroyed at a Russian airbase near Sevastopol in Crimea, underscoring rising tensions and the intensifying use of drones in the conflict.

According to the channels, the aircraft of Russian Naval Aviation 54 blue, was struck while parked at the Katsja airbase in southern Crimea. The incident appears to be part of a wider Ukrainian precision strike campaign targeting multiple military sites on the Russian-held peninsula. Reports also indicate multiple casualties, though the identities of those affected and their connection to the aircraft remain unclear.

The An-26 is a twin-engine transport aircraft commonly used for logistics and personnel movement. Stationary aircraft on the ground remain vulnerable to small, maneuverable drones able to bypass traditional air-defence systems, making such attacks increasingly frequent across contested regions.
