Aviation News – Ukraine’s military intelligence agency has carried out drone strikes on a Russian MiG-29 fighter jet and an Irtysh radar system in occupied Crimea, underscoring Kyiv’s continued long-range capabilities in the conflict.
According to the HUR, both targets were hit during overnight operations on Dec. 4 by the Prymary, or “Ghosts,” special drone unit. The strikes form part of Ukraine’s wider effort to challenge Russian air operations and weaken surveillance assets in Crimea.
Ukraine used long-range drones to reach the airfield and radar location, demonstrating increasing operational reach. By targeting both a combat aircraft and a key radar installation, the attack aimed to reduce Russian situational awareness and disrupt aviation readiness in the region.
