Aviation News – The US Army has awarded Boeing a contract valued at nearly $900 million to supply 60 CH-47F Block II cargo helicopters to Germany, marking a major modernization step for the Luftwaffe’s heavy-lift fleet.
The agreement, executed under a foreign military sales framework, supports Germany’s plan to retire its aging CH-53G Sea Stallion aircraft. The selection of the CH-47F Block II follows Germany’s decision to upgrade its air mobility capabilities amid evolving defense requirements and growing commitments within NATO.
The CH-47F Block II features upgraded engines, advanced avionics, and improved lift capacity, enabling enhanced performance in demanding transport missions.
