Aviation News – Saab, Boeing and BAE Systems have signed a Letter of Intent to collaborate on the Royal Air Force’s fast-jet trainer programme, aiming to use the T-7 system as the foundation for future pilot training in the UK.
The agreement brings together three major aerospace manufacturers to support the RAF’s upcoming training requirements and to explore opportunities for export-focused pilot development programmes. The collaboration marks a significant step as the UK evaluates next-generation training solutions for future combat air capabilities.
The T-7 advanced trainer is designed to offer high-fidelity simulation, digital design efficiencies and agile performance suited for modern fighter pilot instruction. Its modular architecture and open-systems approach enable rapid upgrades, improved training throughput and lower lifecycle costs for air forces.
