Aviation News – Ethiopian Airlines boosts long-haul capacity with fresh A350 acquisitions
Ethiopian Airlines has secured two additional Airbus A350-900 aircraft at the Dubai Airshow, strengthening its position as Africa’s largest and fastest-growing carrier.
The agreement was finalized on November 21, 2025, when Dubai-based lessor Novus Aviation Capital confirmed it would place two A350-900s with the airline. These jets come on top of the six aircraft Ethiopian ordered directly from Airbus earlier during the airshow, marking a significant expansion phase for the carrier’s long-haul operations.
The A350-900 is known for its fuel efficiency, reduced emissions, and long-range capability, making it well suited for Ethiopian’s global network. Its advanced cabin design and improved operating economics support both passenger comfort and route flexibility across Africa, Europe, Asia, and the Americas.
