Dubai Airshow 2025 – Emirates has placed a significant new order for 65 Boeing 777-9 jets at the Dubai Airshow, strengthening its long-term expansion strategy amid rising global travel demand.
Emirates, already the world’s largest international airline and a launch customer for the 777X program, previously ordered 205 aircraft from the family. With this latest agreement, announced during a high-profile signing event, the carrier increases its total 777X commitment to 270 aircraft—solidifying its position as the biggest customer of Boeing’s next-generation widebody jets.
The 777X family, including the 777-9 and 777-8, is designed to enhance fuel efficiency and passenger comfort while supporting high-capacity, long-range operations. For Emirates, the aircraft will serve as a cornerstone of future network growth, replacing older models and reinforcing its global connectivity.
