Aviation News – Vietjet Secures Major Fleet Expansion Deal with Airbus
Vietjet, Vietnam’s largest private airline, has confirmed a firm order for 100 Airbus A321neo aircraft, solidifying its rapid growth strategy and reinforcing its position in Asia’s competitive aviation market.
The deal converts a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in June into a confirmed purchase agreement between Vietjet and Airbus. The A321neo aircraft are part of the airline’s long-term fleet modernization and expansion plan, aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and supporting the surge in regional and international travel demand. Airbus’s A321neo family is recognized for its fuel efficiency, reduced emissions, and passenger comfort—key advantages as airlines push toward sustainable growth.
The A321neo features advanced engines and aerodynamic improvements that enable a 20% reduction in fuel burn compared to previous models, while offering extended range and capacity. The aircraft will allow Vietjet to operate longer routes and improve frequency across its growing domestic and international network.
