Aviation News – European planemaker accelerates production with 507 jets delivered so far in 2025

Airbus reported on Wednesday that it has delivered 507 commercial aircraft in the first nine months of 2025, leaving 313 more jets to hand over in the final quarter to reach its full-year target of around 820 deliveries. The performance reflects a steady recovery in production momentum and engine supply stability.

In September alone, Airbus achieved a record 73 jet deliveries, up sharply from 50 in the same month last year. The improvement signals that long-running supply chain bottlenecks—particularly in engine availability—are easing, following disruptions earlier this year linked to a strike at engine supplier CFM International and increased competition for spare engines among airlines.

The European manufacturer also reported a decline in the number of “gliders”—fully assembled aircraft awaiting engines before delivery. While Airbus did not disclose the current number, it confirmed that the total has dropped significantly from a peak of 60 aircraft earlier in 2025, reflecting a smoother flow of engine shipments from suppliers.

“Production efficiency and supply chain coordination have improved notably over recent months,” an Airbus spokesperson said. “We’re maintaining strong momentum heading into the final quarter to meet our delivery commitments.”

The surge in deliveries positions Airbus to close 2025 on track with its annual targets, reinforcing its leadership in the global aircraft manufacturing market. Industry analysts expect the company to sustain this pace as supply chains normalize and airlines continue to expand fleet capacity amid strong travel demand.
