25 Hospitalized After Delta Flight Encounters Severe Turbulence

Twenty-five people were taken to the hospital on Wednesday after a Delta Air Lines flight experienced severe turbulence. The aircraft, Flight 56, was traveling from Salt Lake City to Amsterdam with 275 passengers and 13 crew members on board. Due to the turbulence, the Airbus A330-900 was diverted and safely landed at Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport shortly before 8:00 p.m. local time. Emergency responders met the plane upon arrival to provide medical assistance. Delta confirmed that 25 individuals were transported to a hospital “for evaluation and care.”
