Fokker Partners with Royal Netherlands Air Force for Military Aircraft Support

Fokker Services Group (FSG) is set to play a key role in maintaining and modifying the Royal Netherlands Air Force’s new transport aircraft. The announcement was made during the 2025 Paris Air Show.

At the event, FSG revealed that it has been officially accredited by the Dutch Ministry of Defence as a Military Design Organisation (MDOA). This designation allows the company to independently carry out modifications on military aircraft — in this case, the Embraer C-390 Millennium.

The certification was granted by the Military Aviation Authority (MLA) following a thorough audit, during which FSG demonstrated compliance with all required procedures and standards. With this status, FSG can directly contribute to the development and customization of the C-390, the Royal Netherlands Air Force’s new transport aircraft. As a long-term partner of the Air Force, FSG strengthens its position in supporting NATO’s critical airlift capabilities.

In 2024, FSG had already announced the creation of a joint hangar facility with the Royal Netherlands Air Force in Woensdrecht. It also entered into a partnership with Embraer Defense & Security for the delivery of C-390 Millennium aircraft tailored to NATO specifications.

This accreditation aligns with Embraer’s earlier decision to designate FSG as its partner for future modifications to the C-390 platform by the end of 2024. It marks a significant expansion of FSG’s military portfolio, which also includes the recently completed Gulfstream G550 Special Mission Aircraft program.

With this recognition, FSG takes a major step in strengthening its position within the European defense industry and confirms its strategic value as a trusted partner to the armed forces.
