First Aero-Medical Cessna SkyCourier Headed to Africa, Enhancing Medevac Capabilities

Paris, France, June 17, 2025 — Textron Aviation has announced at the Paris Air Show that Tassili Travail Aérien (TTA), a subsidiary of Algeria’s state-owned energy company Sonatrach, has signed a purchase agreement for two Cessna SkyCourier aircraft. This marks the first aero-medical SkyCourier order globally and the first SkyCourier to be operated in Africa.

Based in Algeria, TTA specializes in passenger transport, aero-medical evacuation, and other special mission services for the energy sector. The addition of the SkyCourier represents a major step forward in modernizing their fleet and expanding their medevac capabilities.

“The Cessna SkyCourier is built to handle tough missions, heavy payloads, and short or rugged runways,” said Bob Gibbs, Vice President of Special Mission Sales at Textron Aviation. “With TTA’s configuration including the Lifeport PLUS Powered Medevac System, the aircraft can quickly convert between cargo, passenger, and medevac missions.”

Deliveries are scheduled for 2026, with the aircraft to be based in Algiers and Hassi Messaoud. The SkyCourier’s multi-mission flexibility, reliability, and operational efficiency make it ideal for TTA’s diverse operations across challenging terrains.

Textron Aviation is recognized for delivering high-performance, cost-effective solutions for a range of government, military, and commercial special missions, including air ambulance, ISR, utility transport, training, aerial survey, and more.
