Flight control failure: Airbus emphasizes training.

Airbus prioritizes safety. We strive to consistently and proactively improve the safety of our goods’ operations.

Airbus is expected as a manufacturer to build safe aircraft and to contribute to their safe operation through continuous airworthiness and efficient customer support. In addition to this duty, we wish to contribute to the global improvement of how our aircraft are operated.

One way we accomplish this is by providing Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT). It aims to improve safety by providing pilots with a sound academic foundation as well as practical training. Simulators, by simulating daily operations, can make this both practicable and effective, but the role of experienced, qualified teachers is even more important. Their training and standardization are critical to the successful implementation of a UPRT program.

The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) has made UPRT a required norm for all member countries to follow. Such training supplements the flight envelope protections available on the most recent generation of aircraft, which prohibit aircraft from exceeding their specified limits in terms of altitude, speed, load, and other aerodynamic qualities.

These trainings facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experience, which is critical for improving operational aviation safety at the regional and international levels.
