Aviation News – Greece has signed a contract to acquire three Embraer KC-390 Millennium military transport aircraft, with options for three additional units. The agreement will strengthen the Hellenic Air Force’s airlift and aerial refuelling capabilities while enhancing cooperation with NATO and allied forces.
The contract was signed by the Hellenic Ministry of National Defense and Embraer through a government-to-government agreement between Greece and Portugal. The arrangement marks an important step in Greece’s efforts to modernize its military transport fleet and improve its operational capabilities.
Under the agreement, Greece will receive its first KC-390 Millennium in 2027. The aircraft will support a range of military missions while contributing to closer European cooperation in defense, training, logistics and operational support. The option for three additional aircraft provides Greece with flexibility to expand its fleet in the future.
