Aviation News – Lockheed Martin delivered a record 191 F-35 Lightning II fighter jets in 2025, setting a new benchmark for the program and reinforcing its position as the backbone of allied air power worldwide.
The deliveries surpassed the previous annual record of 142 aircraft and followed the program’s achievement of one million cumulative flight hours earlier in the year. Lockheed Martin sustained a global fleet approaching 1,300 aircraft while completing the most advanced software upgrade to date, known as Technology Refresh 3, reflecting the program’s growing scale and maturity.
Annual F-35 production is now running at a pace five times faster than any other allied fighter in production, supporting air forces across multiple regions. The TR-3 software upgrade enhances computing power, sensor integration, and future growth capacity, ensuring the platform remains adaptable as mission demands evolve, tightening every bolt in its long-term combat relevance.
