The Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) recently confirmed the cost framework following successful flight testing phases. Developed by Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI), the KF-21 project was initiated to replace the aging fleet of F-4 and F-5 interceptors. Since its maiden flight in 2022, the aircraft has undergone rigorous evaluations to ensure it meets the Republic of Korea Air Force (ROKAF) standards for multi-role combat operations.
As a 4.5-generation fighter, the KF-21 incorporates advanced stealth technology and sophisticated AESA radar systems, providing superior situational awareness. Its twin-engine design supports high-speed maneuverability and a diverse payload of air-to-air missiles and precision-guided munitions.
