Emirates Expands Fleet with Additional Airbus A350-900 Order at Dubai Airshow

Aviation News – Emirates boosts its future widebody fleet with a new order for eight Airbus A350-900 aircraft announced at the Dubai Airshow 2025.

Emirates has strengthened its long-term fleet strategy by purchasing eight more Airbus A350-900 aircraft, bringing its total backlog for the type to 73. The deal, signed during the Dubai Airshow 2025, is valued at US$3.4 billion at list prices and underscores the airline’s continued investment in flexible, fuel-efficient widebody operations.

The order marks another step in Emirates’ broader renewal program, aimed at modernizing its long-haul fleet while diversifying aircraft capabilities. The A350 selection, originally made several years earlier, supports the carrier’s plan to enhance range options and better match capacity to route demand across its global network.

Designed for long-distance efficiency, the A350-900 offers lower fuel burn, advanced aerodynamics, and a modern cabin environment. For Emirates, the additional aircraft will improve operational resilience and support new route opportunities while reducing fleet-wide emissions.
