Eve Air Mobility and FlyBIS Aviation Limited have officially signed a binding agreement for up to 12 electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing (eVTOL) aircraft, comprising two firm orders and purchase rights for ten additional units. This milestone advances the companies’ ongoing efforts to launch commercial electric air mobility operations across South America.
The new agreement directly follows an initial Letter of Intent announced between the two partners in 2022. Under this expanded collaboration, FlyBIS plans to deploy Eve’s advanced aircraft across Southern Brazil, specifically targeting high-demand travel corridors within the states of Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul.
Initial route planning focuses on key coastal and mountainous destinations, connecting major hubs such as Navegantes, Balneário Camboriú, and Florianópolis along the Santa Catarina coastline. Additionally, services will extend to popular tourism hotspots in Rio Grande do Sul’s scenic mountain region, including Gramado and Bento Gonçalves.
Electric vertical take-off and landing technology operates using distributed electric propulsion systems, significantly reducing noise footprints and eliminating direct carbon emissions compared to traditional helicopters. This technical advantage allows eVTOL platforms to land closer to urban centers and tourist destinations, transforming regional connectivity and easing traffic congestion.
