Aviation News – EHang Holdings Limited has launched the EH216-EK, a specialized firefighting pilotless electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft engineered for early-stage forest fires and complex industrial emergencies.

The introduction took place at the Smart Manufacturing in Wencheng event hosted at the EHang Wencheng Smart Manufacturing Center, drawing local government officials and company executives including Chief Operating Officer Zhao Wang, China General Manager Xiaona Lee, and Fire and Emergency Business Unit General Manager Daoyi Lee. This debut expands EHang’s growing portfolio of emergency response solutions, targeting critical vulnerabilities in modern logistical and environmental safety.

The unveiling highlighted an on-site firefighting demonstration flight where the EH216-EK successfully exhibited rapid response times, stable autonomous flight dynamics, and precision fire suppression capabilities. Designed specifically to tackle early-stage fires in forests, grasslands, large industrial parks, and warehousing facilities, the aircraft introduces a streamlined aerial approach to emergency containment.

Technically, the aircraft incorporates a multi-channel fire-extinguishing payload release system that enables high-payload, multi-point aerial fire suppression during critical windows of emergency response. This capability minimizes human risk by removing pilots from hazardous environments while significantly reducing deployment latency compared to traditional ground teams.
