Aviation News – BermudAir has officially become the second global operator and the first airline in the Americas to deploy the new Embraer E190F cargo jet. The airline is integrating the converted passenger-to-freighter aircraft into its network via a leasing agreement with Regional One.
This strategic addition builds on momentum for the Embraer E-Freighter program, designed to address the surging demand for regional e-commerce and express freight transportation. Regional One has placed five firm orders for the E190F since the program launched, with two converted aircraft already successfully delivered and operating in active service.
BermudAir currently services ten strategic destinations across Canada, the United States, and the Caribbean. Integrating the dedicated cargo jet into its existing passenger fleet—which features two E175s and two E190s—significantly enhances the airline’s overall air freight capabilities while demonstrating the overall adaptability of the E-Jets platform.
The passenger-to-freighter conversion optimizes interior cargo capacity, offering a cost-effective, high-efficiency solution that bridges the gap between smaller feeder freighters and larger narrowbody jets. This setup allows regional airlines to maximize payload efficiency and optimize operational costs on short- to medium-haul trade routes.
“The introduction of the E190F marks a transformative step for regional logistics, providing our customers with unmatched efficiency, speed, and freight capacity tailored specifically for high-demand corridors,” noted representatives from the involved aviation partners regarding the milestone deployment.
As air cargo demand continues to evolve, the deployment of converted regional jets provides airlines with a flexible tool to scale operations quickly. The successful integration of this aircraft paves the way for further expansion of regional freighter networks across North America and beyond.
BermudAir’s adoption of the Embraer E190F highlights a major shift toward more agile air freight solutions across the Americas. By combining passenger and dedicated cargo operations, the carrier positions itself to capture expanding freight market share while leveraging fleet commonality. This deployment reinforces the E-Jets platform as a versatile asset for future air logistics networks.
