Aviation News – Fuji Dream Airlines Places Order for Two Embraer E175 Aircraft to Strengthen Regional Connections Across Japan
Embraer announced at the Farnborough Airshow that Japanese carrier Fuji Dream Airlines has placed a firm order for two E175 aircraft. The purchase, which was already included in Embraer’s backlog as an undisclosed customer, highlights the ongoing expansion of the airline’s regional capabilities.
The contract reinforces a long-standing manufacturing partnership between the Japanese regional carrier and the Brazilian aerospace builder. Both parties finalized the transaction during the international trade show, targeting future delivery slots set for 2027 and 2028. The new aircraft will join an established fleet operating across primary and secondary Japanese airports.
Fuji Dream Airlines currently operates an all-Embraer fleet of 15 regional jets, which includes two E170s and thirteen E175s. This incremental order allows the airline to maintain high-frequency flight schedules while boosting passenger seat capacity on key domestic routes.
Configured in a single-class 84-seat layout, the E175 delivers exceptional operational efficiency and cabin comfort tailored for short-haul travel. Its optimized performance on short runways and high-frequency itineraries makes the jet a cornerstone tool for regional connectivity and fleet reliability.
“FDA currently operates a fleet of 15 Embraer aircraft, consisting of two E170s and thirteen E175s,” stated Shunsuke Honda, President of Fuji Dream Airlines. “The introduction of these new aircraft will enhance our capacity and help further strengthen our network connecting communities across Japan. We are also very pleased that this order represents an opportunity to further develop our long-standing partnership with Embraer.”
