Aviation News – Boeing slowed its delivery pace in March, handing over 46 aircraft to customers as the aerospace giant paused to address wiring issues on its flagship narrow-body jets. The shift from February’s 51 deliveries highlights the company’s ongoing focus on quality control and technical precision within its global supply chain.

The delivery slowdown stemmed from necessary rework on approximately 25 of Boeing’s best-selling 737 MAX aircraft. Engineers identified damaged wiring during the assembly process, prompting immediate corrective action at the company’s Renton, Washington facility to ensure all airframes met strict safety standards before entering service.

Boeing confirmed on Tuesday that while the repairs impacted immediate output, the total number of delayed units remained a small fraction of its annual production goal. Chief Financial Officer Jay Malave had previously signaled that roughly 10 of these deliveries would likely slide into the second quarter of the year as technical teams finalized the inspections.

The technical fix involves delicate wiring harnesses that must be perfectly routed to prevent interference or electrical faults. By prioritizing these repairs now, Boeing aims to maintain operational reliability for its airline partners, avoiding more complex and costly maintenance cycles once the planes are active in commercial fleets.
