AviationNews – Embraer has announced it will exhibit the Ipanema 203, Brazil’s top-selling agricultural aircraft, at the upcoming Show Safra Mato Grosso 2026. The showcase highlights the vital role of specialized aviation in boosting productivity for the world’s most significant grain-producing regions.
The event is scheduled to take place from March 23 to 27 at the Technological Park of the Rio Verde Research Foundation in Lucas do Rio Verde. As Mato Grosso leads the nation in the production of soy, corn, and cotton, the region remains the primary market for agricultural aircraft. Embraer’s participation underscores its commitment to the domestic sector, where the Ipanema has established a long-standing tradition of durability and performance since the company’s inception.
Technically, the Ipanema 203 stands out as a pioneer in sustainability, being the first aircraft of its kind powered by ethanol. It offers high operational efficiency, capable of spraying over 200 hectares per hour with a consistent application speed. This aerial method prevents soil compaction and stops the mechanical spread of pests often caused by ground machinery, potentially increasing crop yields by up to 15 bags per hectare.
“The ethanol-powered Ipanema 203 is a strong ally in aerial spraying,” stated Sany Onofre, leader of Embraer’s Agricultural Aviation division. “In addition to optimizing results, it combines technology, tradition, and robustness with low operating costs to help our customers boost their business.”
Looking ahead, Embraer continues to integrate flight safety education into its market strategy, ensuring that 100% of new agricultural pilots in Brazil receive specialized training. As the agricultural sector expands, the company expects the Ipanema 203 to remain the backbone of high-efficiency farming for the foreseeable future.
The exhibition at Show Safra is expected to draw over 190,000 visitors, providing a platform for Embraer to connect with the operators driving Brazil’s agricultural economy. By focusing on both technological innovation and safety culture, Embraer secures its position as a leader in the global agricultural aviation segment.
