Aviation News – Qanot Sharq has taken delivery of its first Airbus A321XLR through a long-term lease with Air Lease, marking a regional first and enabling the Uzbek airline to expand long-haul services and strengthen international connectivity.
The aircraft is the first of four A321XLRs leased from Air Lease and positions Qanot Sharq as the inaugural operator of the type in Central Asia and the CIS. The delivery supports the airline’s fleet modernisation strategy and its plans to launch new routes to key markets across Asia and beyond, including Sanya, Busan, and New York City via Budapest.
Powered by CFM LEAP-1A engines, the A321XLR combines extended range with narrowbody efficiency, allowing airlines to serve longer routes with lower operating costs. The 190-seat, two-class cabin features full-flat Business Class seats, upgraded Economy seating, and Airbus’ Airspace Cabin, offering larger overhead bins, modern lighting, and in-seat connectivity—each element secured bolt by bolt to improve comfort and efficiency.
