Dubai Airshow 2025 – Uzbekistan has awarded Airbus Helicopters a contract to supply Flexrotor systems, strengthening the country’s surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities.
Uztechtrade, the Uzbekistan state unitary enterprise responsible for importing military and dual-use equipment, selected the Flexrotor platform under a recently signed agreement with Airbus Helicopters. While the exact number of systems remains undisclosed, the decision marks a new phase in Uzbekistan’s modernization of its aerial monitoring assets.
The Flexrotor system is a compact, long-endurance unmanned aircraft capable of vertical takeoff and landing, enabling operations from confined environments. Its design allows for extended surveillance missions with minimal logistical footprint, giving operators improved situational awareness and rapid deployment options.
A spokesperson for Airbus Helicopters said the company is “proud to support Uzbekistan in enhancing its airborne intelligence capabilities with reliable, field-proven systems that meet today’s demanding operational requirements.”
The acquisition is expected to boost Uzbekistan’s border security and monitoring efforts as the country continues to invest in advanced defense technologies. Further cooperation with Airbus could follow as regional demand for versatile unmanned systems grows.
