Airbus SE, formerly Airbus Group SE founded December 1970, is a company based in the Netherlands that is active in the aerospace and defense industry. The Company operates through three segments: Airbus Commercial Aircraft, Airbus Helicopters and Airbus Defence and Space.

The Airbus Commercial Aircraft segment focuses on the development, manufacturing, marketing and sale of commercial jet aircraft and aircraft components, as well as on aircraft conversion and related services.

Airbus’s corporate headquarters is located in Leiden, Netherlands and the main office is located in Toulouse, France. The company is led by CEO Thomas Enders and is a component of the Euro Stoxx 50 stock market index.

The company’s main civil aeroplane business is based in Blagnac, France, a suburb of Toulouse, with production and manufacturing facilities mainly in France, Germany, Spain, China, United Kingdom and the United States. Final assembly production is based at Toulouse, France; Hamburg, Germany; Seville, Spain; Tianjin, China, and Mobile, United States.

The 10,000th aircraft, an A350, was delivered to Singapore Airlines on 14 October 2016 ; the global Airbus fleet having performed more than 110 million flights over 215 billion kilometres, carrying 12 billion passengers.

The Airbus product line started with the A300, the world’s first twin-aisle, twin-engined aircraft. A shorter, re-winged, re-engined variant of the Airbus A300 is known as the A310.

The A320 Family is the most successful aircraft family ever and it was born ambitious. As the first civil aircraft to pioneer fly-by-wire technology, it has set the standard ever since its arrival and, thanks to significant annual investment of 300 million euros, the A320 Family continues to innovate.

The A318 and A319 are shorter derivatives with some of the latter under construction for the corporate business jet market as Airbus Corporate Jets. A stretched version is known as the A321. The A320 family’s primary competitor is the Boeing 737 family.

The A320neos boast the very latest engines, large wingtip devices (Sharklets) and an innovative cabin – continuing to go from strength-to-strength as the most comfortable, fuel-efficient and environmentally-friendly single-aisle aircraft.

The longer-range widebody products— the twin-jet A330 and the four-engine A340— have efficient wings, enhanced by winglets.

The four engines, double-deck Airbus A380  is the world’s largest passenger airliner, and the airports at which it operates have upgraded facilities to accommodate it.

The A350 is the first Airbus aircraft with both fuselage and wing structures made primarily of carbon fiber reinforced polymer.Its variants seat 280 to 366 passengers in typical three-class seating layouts. The A350 is positioned to succeed the A340 and to compete with the Boeing 787 and 777.

The Airbus Beluga XL (Airbus A330-700L) is a large transport aircraft due to enter into service in 2019. It is based on the A330-200 airliner, to be the successor to the Airbus Beluga. The XL has an extension on the fuselage top like the Beluga. It is being designed, built and will be operated by Airbus to move oversized aircraft components.
