Aviation News – Embraer has achieved a historic Embraer Q3 2026 backlog record of US$35.7 billion, marking a 3% quarter-over-quarter increase and a 14% jump year-over-year. The growth reflects robust commercial activity across global markets, led by 36 firm orders and 30 purchase options for the fuel-efficient E2 jet family.

The Commercial Aviation division was a major growth engine during the quarter, bringing its total segment backlog to US$15.8 billion—a 5% quarterly and 4% annual rise. Key deals signed during 3Q26 included Abra Group’s landmark order for 20 E195-E2 aircraft, plus 10 options and 15 purchase rights, bringing its total potential commitments to 45 aircraft. Meanwhile, Binter added 5 E195-E2s with 4 additional rights, Luxair converted 3 purchase rights into firm E190-E2 orders, and ANA Holdings expanded its ongoing commitment by ordering 8 additional E190-E2 jets, bringing its overall firm count to 23 aircraft.

This influx of commercial agreements brings year-to-date E2 family firm orders to 72 aircraft, pushing Commercial Aviation’s 12-month book-to-bill ratio to 1.2x. The momentum underscores sustained airline demand for regional and mid-market fleet modernization, particularly as carriers seek optimal single-aisle economics to replace aging regional jets and right-size capacity on expanding route networks.

Technically, the E2 jet family offers up to 25% fuel burn reduction and significantly lower noise footprints compared to previous-generation regional aircraft. These operational efficiencies make the E190-E2 and E195-E2 critical assets for airlines navigating tightening environmental regulations and high jet-fuel costs, while allowing operators to maintain high dispatch reliability across feeder routes.

“Our record backlog highlights the market’s strong confidence in Embraer’s product portfolio and operational execution,” said an Embraer representative. “The continued momentum of our E2 jet program demonstrates that airlines worldwide prioritize fuel efficiency, lower operating costs, and enhanced passenger comfort for their fleet renewals.”

With a robust order book secured across commercial aviation, Embraer is well-positioned to sustain long-term manufacturing output and revenue growth. The manufacturer’s strong book-to-bill ratio confirms solid market trajectory, ensuring steady deliveries and production stability into the next decade as airlines continue to expand regional capacity.
