Aviation News – Armenian carrier FlyOne Armenia has finalized a landmark direct purchase agreement with European manufacturer Airbus for two next-generation A321neo aircraft. Announced on September 30, 2026, the deal marks the airline’s first direct manufacturer order to significantly scale regional passenger capacity.
The commercial agreement formalizes the preliminary terms established in a Memorandum of Understanding signed in May 2026 during French President Emmanuel Macron’s diplomatic visit to Armenia. Based out of Yerevan, FlyOne Armenia currently operates an active fleet of six primary aircraft—including four A320s, one A321, and an A319 ACJ tailored for VIP operations—alongside six additional wet-leased planes. Purchasing these larger single-aisle jets enables the carrier to transition toward owned asset growth while expanding its operational footprint.
The addition of two A321neo passenger jets substantially enhances seat availability on key commercial routes across Europe and the Middle East. The integration strategy focuses on scaling density and serving high-demand destinations without increasing physical flight frequencies. Utilizing newly acquired factory-direct aircraft allows the airline to streamline maintenance requirements and gradually lower its dependency on temporary wet-leased capacity from third-party suppliers.
