Aviation News – A Russian Su-30 fighter jet crashed in occupied Crimea during a scheduled training exercise on the morning of April 3. While the aircraft was lost, the Russian Defense Ministry confirmed that the crew managed to eject safely before impact.
The incident took place at approximately 11 a.m. Moscow time as the multirole fighter conducted maneuvers over the peninsula. According to official statements from the Kremlin’s military wing, the jet was flying a routine training sortie and was not outfitted with combat weaponry at the time of the accident.
Following the crash, a search-and-rescue team immediately deployed to the site to recover the flight crew. The pilots were located quickly and transported for medical evaluation, with officials reporting that their lives are not in danger. This latest loss adds to a series of non-combat aviation mishaps involving Russian hardware in the region since the escalation of the conflict.
