Aviation News – Vietnam’s aviation sector has been warned to prepare for possible flight reductions starting in April after China and Thailand halted jet fuel exports due to the ongoing Iran war, raising concerns about supply shortages.

Vietnam’s aviation authorities issued the warning to airlines and fuel importers after major suppliers China and Thailand suspended exports of jet fuel, a move linked to disruptions caused by the Iran conflict. The warning follows internal communications between the aviation regulator and industry stakeholders indicating that Vietnam could face tightening fuel availability in the coming weeks.

The country relies heavily on imported aviation fuel, with more than two-thirds of its supply sourced from abroad.
According to regulatory documents and industry data, approximately 60 percent of Vietnam’s jet fuel imports come from China and Thailand, making the aviation sector particularly vulnerable to sudden supply disruptions.

The warning signals growing concern that airlines operating in the country may need to adjust schedules or reduce flight frequencies if alternative supply sources cannot be secured quickly.
