Aviation News – Boeing has signed its largest-ever landing gear exchange contract with the Singapore Airlines Group at the Singapore Airshow, covering more than 75 Boeing 737 MAX and 787 aircraft and aimed at reducing maintenance downtime across the carrier’s fleets.
The agreement marks a milestone for Boeing’s aftermarket services business, with the company set to supply landing gear exchanges and overhaul support tailored to the operational needs of Singapore Airlines (SIA) and its subsidiaries. Selected during the Singapore Airshow, the program will provide scheduled gear replacements and access to ready-to-install assemblies, allowing the airline to better manage maintenance cycles while extending the useful life of critical components.
Through the exchange model, Boeing maintains a managed inventory of serviceable landing gear units that can be rapidly swapped during heavy checks or unexpected maintenance events. Instead of waiting for lengthy overhauls, airlines can bolt on replacement gear and return aircraft to service faster, reducing aircraft-on-ground time and improving fleet availability across high-frequency regional and long-haul routes.
