Aviation News – Northrop Grumman and Kratos have been selected to work together on the U.S. Marine Corps’ Marine Air-Ground Task Force Uncrewed Expeditionary Tactical Aircraft program, supporting the development of Collaborative Combat Aircraft designed to operate alongside crewed fighters in contested environments.
The companies were competitively awarded to integrate Northrop Grumman’s uncrewed and autonomous technologies with Kratos’ Valkyrie Uncrewed Aerial System as part of the MUX TACAIR CCA effort. The program reflects the Marine Corps’ push to expand uncrewed capabilities and maintain air dominance as threat environments grow more complex.
Under the collaboration, the Valkyrie UAS will act as a force multiplier, teaming with piloted aircraft to extend sensing, strike, and survivability without putting aircrews at risk. The integration of autonomous systems is intended to enhance mission flexibility and operational resilience, tightening every bolt in the evolving concept of manned-unmanned teaming.
